The 11 metre Beneteau First 35 yacht, which takes up to 10 passengers, is your
dream boat for the day.
At 09.00 the yacht departs historic Mandraki Harbour in Rhodes Town
(the site where the Colossos of Rhodes stood accordingly to legend) sailing past the old Crusader Lighthouse of St. Nicholas and the 3 landmark windmills.
You have an amazing panorama with the Rhodes Town skyline on one side and the mountains of Turkey on the other.
The yacht glides south past Kalithea, the renovated Italian spa set amongst rocky cliffs and woods; you glimpse the rocky coves and shoreline here, the site of ancient stone quarries.
You then sail along Faliraki Bay, past the grand hotels on the north side, the busy central beach, the picturesque harbour with its quaint church and the tranquil nudist beach.
The first swim stop is Traganou Beach, site of the famous pirate caves, where you spend approximately 45 minutes…discover the rock pools and chilly sea caverns. The next swim stop, also approximately 45 minutes, is sheltered and cozy Ladiko Bay.
The final stop of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes is Anthony Quinn Bay, a rocky green lagoon named after the legendary actor who made the famous film ‘The Guns of Navarone’ on Rhodes and returned repeatedly to the island he loved. Wildly popular with Italian visitors, Anthony Quinn Bay is a stylish spot during high summer.
Here lunch is served on board (included in the excursion price.) The usual menu is roast chicken, Greek salad with feta cheese and oven-fresh bread. There is a vegetarian option available on request. Wine, beer, soft drinks and water are included in the excursion price.
